Background:
The oldest of six children, Haron graduated from St. Patrick's high school in 2001 where he participated in track and volleyball as team captain. He then attended Tambach Teachers' Training College and was voted the best male athlete after winning gold and silver in 3000M and 5000M, respectively, during the Kenya national intercollegiate championship in 2002. Haron also played basketball while at Tambach and was team captain. Haron graduated from Texas Tech University in 2007 with a degree in Human Science and a minor in Substance Abuse studies and Recovery.
